White House Petition for Clothes-Elective Areas
More clothing-optional places - For those of you unaware, on January 13th, Larry Darter of the Dallas Examiner created a "We the People" petition that calls for all Federal lands to have clothes-optional regions. It is puttered along for a few weeks and AANR has put their stamp of approval on it. Currently it's just over 2,500 signatures of the 100,000 wanted. With only two weeks to go, it doesn't appear like it'll meet it's target. I have a somewhat different stance.
The "We the People" campaign was made by the U.S. Government in 2011 as a means to receive comments from its citizens about political, societal, and economic dilemmas, giving the typical individual a method to petition the government about their concerns. Initially, just https://s3.amazonaws.com/naturism-aa/very-fat-on-beach-nude.html were needed for the White House to issue a reply. Fast after launch, the number jumped to 25,000 and now it's 100,000. Despite the number of signatures needed ever growing, achieving the goal doesn't guarantee an official statement. Meanwhile other requests, such as the one seeking to release a White House Beer recipe, or to construct a full scale Death Star, or the recent one with the demand to deport Justin Bieber, received elaborate comedic prose with no political relevance. The White House is simply cherry-picking what they deem applicable and will get them the most press. Even if this request for more clothing-optional outdoor spaces does reach its target and the White House picks it as among their important dilemmas, there is no index the reply will truly address the issue or be serious in any way.

Another thing to mention is that there currently aren't any federal laws against everyday, non sexual nudity. All the laws on record have now been made strictly by the states. The consequence of the request is that every national park and woods would quarter off sections for clothing-optional use. From then on, who orders where these clothes-optional areas are? They could section off a five-foot square that's hundreds of yards from any trail, swimming hole, or leading park area and designate it as clothing optional. Or how about the rear of any cave occupied by a grizzly bear? Sure, they're clothes-optional also. Now, with government sanctioned clothing-optional regions throughout the place, there would have to be means to control all the nude people from wondering out of the designated regions. https://s3.amazonaws.com/naturism-aa/nudism-family-picture.html wouldn't be long before a national law was signed, making all nonsexual nudity illegal. By taking this to the national level, there is the potential of it backfiring, because there is really nothing to legalize.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against a world with more nudie places. It'd be amazing if I turned out to be wrong, and the request ended up receiving an official, favorable reply in the White House. FKK did post about the request on Facebook and Twitter. Getting acceptance of the body is what it's about. But in regards to social nudity, I don't believe that creating modest clothing-optional zones is the response, and by using the government's "We The People" site, with its trivial answers and lack luster track record, does not help with the credibility of the cause.
It should be noted the Naturist Action Committee issued an advisory responding to the petition (link below). While they didn't discount it, some have been surprised by their less-than-enthusiastic answer. Rather than encourage https://s3.amazonaws.com/naturism-aa/young-nudist-girls-pic.html to sign, NAC essentially said they leave it up to the person to determine whether or not to sign it.
